Koinos node snapshots

A copy of the Koinos mainnet chain data from Armana's node, taken every Sunday, so a new node can skip syncing from genesis.

Restore

  1. Verify first. Run the command above and stop here unless the last line says OK.
  2. Stop your node.
  3. Unpack into an empty directory: mkdir restore && tar -xzf <name> -C restore. You get restore/.koinos/ holding chain, block_store, transaction_store, account_history and contract_meta_store.
  4. Move your node's existing five directories aside. Keep them until the restored node is healthy.
  5. Move the five extracted directories into place: under ~/.koinos for the official Docker setup, or wherever your BASEDIR points.
  6. Leave config.yml, your keys and everything else untouched.
  7. Start the node with verify-blocks: true for its first run, then turn it off again.
  8. Once the node is in sync and healthy, delete the set-aside copy.

About

The archive is taken from Armana's public node, koinos.armana.io, with about forty seconds of pause while the databases are copied.

A new archive is published every Sunday. Two are listed; an archive stays downloadable for at least a day after it leaves the list, so links are not permanent.

The layout matches the Koinos Foundation's seed archive: one .koinos directory with the five database directories inside.
